"This was my first book from the author, and I really enjoyed his characters and style of writing. The story is set in Houston, Texas and the main character Heat, a private investigator, is a no nonsense bad _ss looking to find out who murdered his estranged partner, to either bring them to justice, or better yet make them pay. Either way is fine by him. The story is fast paced and easy to read. There are a number of characters in the story that you will connect with, and an equal number that you will want to beat the Hell out of.
