Bryan Evans was born in November 1943, at a unique moment in time.
The second world war was raging, and the Allied forces were in the midst of preparations for the Normandy Landings on June 6, 1944 - the largest amphibian invasion in history. The new technologies and social mechanisms born out of this global effort to defeat fascism would ultimately transform the world economy. The men and women who came home to Canada after the war participated in an unparalleled expansion of economic growth never dreamed of by their ancestors.
It was in the midst of this "Sweet Spot in History" where Bryan lived his extraordinarily diverse and interesting Civil Engineering career. A career that would take him to Australia, Iran, the Caribbean and all over western Canada. Along with his wife Judy, Bryans travels also offer a perspective of the world at this time as it is impossible or unsafe to travel to many of these countries today.
A "Sweet Spot in History (1945-2025)" is a lively and fascinating account of Bryan Evans' career and travels and provides an inside view of Western Canadian history in the post-war economy.
