Abraham Goldstein is 300 years old, richer than several planets, and catastrophically bored. So he does what any self-respecting trillionaire with a God complex would do: bankrupts his family, builds a secret particle accelerator beneath his Antarctic penthouse, and tears a hole into the Divine Dimension.

What he finds there changes everything.

Yahweh, it turns out, was not a god. He was an alien with advanced mind-control technology, terrible boundaries, and detailed instructions for manufacturing religion.

Abraham immediately steals the technology, terraforms an asteroid into a replica of Bronze Age Judea, memory-wipes several thousand Martians, and declares himself the Creator of Humanity.

Unfortunately, the project is already falling apart.

His genetically engineered angels are developing severe psychological problems. His chosen Messiah is a mushroom-addicted coward hiding in the tunnels beneath Eden. A heavily armed Martian terrorist has arrived claiming to be the real prophet.
