A friend suggested golf. As a long-term resident of northern Japan, I was able to handle most things in my adopted home. Golf was another matter. The contents include Japan's golf history and geography (but with humor), Japan's golf vocabulary and manner of play (with ample explanations of the language), embarrassing moments of Japanese golf and the lost ball in Japan (both common occurrences for me), a round of golf on an Aomori golf course (located in the far north of Japan), and the realization that ...
