When I stepped out ringside, the crowd of mostly rough guys holding their overpriced beers went quiet for a second, then erupted in whistles and cheers. Their eyes locked on me and it sent a thrill through me. I felt exposed, but in a hot way. Like I was on display just for them.
I started my job, holding up the round one sign, walking slow around the ring. My hips swayed more than usual, and I could feel the stares burning into me. I glanced at Jasper, who was busy setting up the lights, and he gave me a thumbs up, clueless about how I was getting.
During the break after the first round, the fighters were sweating and pumped up in their corners. One of them smirked at me while I held the sign high. "Looking good, babe," he said, his voice low and rough. I blushed but smiled back, feeling that pull.
"Thanks, just doing my job," I replied, but I leaned in closer than I should have, letting him get a good view. My boyfriend was across the room, talking to the ref, so I figured a little flirt wouldn't hurt.
