Archie made a promise to his wife Patricia years earlier. She begged him not to let her suffer the same fate as her mother, who lost her life to dementia. Trapped between honoring her wish to end her suffering, and his desire to protect her, Archie is tormented by memories and dreams filled with the shadowy figures of his past. Each leading to increasingly intense supernatural experiences.
He finds solace in his basement "man cave," a sanctuary filled with nostalgic memorabilia from his past. The centerpiece is a restored 1940s phone booth, a symbol of connection and longing. The lines between reality and dreams become blurred as Archie experiences surreal episodes within the phone booth. Encountering visions of his younger wife and shadowy figures from the past. These dreamlike sequences serve as metaphors for memory, loss, and the desire to escape the harsh realities of the present.
The story's climax is both tragic and ambiguous, culminating in a mysterious phone call to 911 from the old phone booth, blurring the boundaries between life, death, and the afterlife.
