Rural Nebraska, 1998. The Hollow Creek Rendering Plant sits rotting in the expansive silence of the cornfields—a rusted monument to industrial slaughter, scheduled for demolition. For Jarek Halloway and his specialized cleanup crew, it's supposed to be one last dirty job: drain the basement vats, seal the pipes, and walk away with a paycheck.

But the sludge at the bottom of the tanks isn't normal waste. It is a silvery, viscous legacy of a decades-old cover-up—a chemical catalyst that shouldn't exist.

When a containment seal fails, the facility goes into lockdown, trapping the crew in the dark with the leak. They quickly discover that this substance doesn't just kill; it changes.
