Other tales include the Sign Holder, the wannabe country singer, the devoted state patrolman, a homeless boy and his faithful dog, and a lottery addict, plus several other rich characters. These folks travel the highway between two rural towns,sometimes interacting with each, but often passing without a glance. Yet, their decisions often profoundly impact the lives of other travelers. Each story is connected in some manner to the next, but can be read as a separate and complete tale. However, the Shrink Lady's journey continues throuhout the book, finally concluding the collection.
