People are forced to follow their laws, because gangs are not the worst of the phenomena of the New World. What lives outside the walls is a thousand times more dangerous. Only Jay doesn't respect the laws. She is a real fighter for whom the word "freedom" still makes sense. And even a mark on her hand, meaning that she is the property of the gang - a fallen woman - is not capable of breaking her. She hates the New World, its cruelty and laws, its people and their rules, but continues to exist in it. After all, she has an obligation from which she cannot but give up, and for the sake of it she will go to the most desperate acts.
