On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was murdered in broad daylight as his motorcade passed through Dealey Plaza. Within hours, police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald. Two days later, nightclub owner Jack Ruby shot Oswald on live television, silencing the only man charged with the crime before he could stand trial.
