Destiny, passion, friendship, and the path.
By refusing to face his own inner conflicts, Gabriel decides to run away, disguising that escape under the gentle name of a vacation. He leaves his home somewhere in the American continent and, with a backpack on his shoulders, sets off for Europe, where he plans to stay for several weeks.
However, once in Paris, France, and after only a few days, he begins to feel trapped, empty, adrift. The city—so immense and vibrant for others—becomes, for him, an uncomfortable mirror of what he carries inside. Then he remembers an ancient path that begins on the border between France and Spain, in a small town called Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.
Destiny —or something deeper— pushes him there, leading him to the Camino de Santiago de Compostela: 810 kilometers on foot, with his whole life compressed into a backpack resting on his shoulders. Gabriel is still unaware that destiny, energy, the universe—or all of them together—have conspired to deceive him and bring him to that thousand-year-old trail.
But on the path he will not only discover that deception. He will also learn, cry, laugh, meet people who will mark his life, and live experiences he never imagined. Many more things—so many more—await him among mountains, villages, silences, and sunrises.
Gabriel has been pulled out of his comfort zone by a cunning destiny that pushes him to transform himself and receive a profound lesson, an invaluable treasure that can only be found when one dares to walk into the unknown.
The story of someone who has never left his country and suddenly finds himself in another land, traveling the Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
