Dream Thieves: You Invaded My Mind

Dream Thieves follows Costas Romero, a seasoned expedition leader whose life is shattered when he encounters a terrifying new drug deep in the Amazon. An anthropological team journeys into the remote basin to study an isolated Indigenous tribe untouched by the twenty-first century. Instead of a scientific triumph, the expedition is ambushed and imprisoned by the very people they hoped to observe. 

During captivity, the tribe's Shaman administers a piece of strange tree root to one of the guides. He dies that night under mysterious circumstances. The following evening, the tribe's female anthropologist is forced to ingest the same root. Under constant watch, she appears untouched, yet in the morning she insists she has been raped, with vivid memories of an assault that seemingly could not have occurred. 

The Shaman next turns to Costas. Forced to consume the root, Costas is dragged into a shared dream reality with the Shaman—a fifth-dimensional space where both consciousnesses coexist. Here Costas discovers the horrifying truth: the drug enables two users to enter the same dream and interact in a tangible world. What happens in that shared dream leaves physical and psychological echoes in reality. In this liminal realm, he fights and kills the Shaman before escaping into the rainforest, his understanding of reality irrevocably altered. 

Costas eventually reaches safety in Tefè, where a local doctor and his wife shelter him. There, he reunites with a lifelong friend on a separate research expedition, accompanied by Ruth Anderson, an inquisitive pharmacologist. Fascinated by Costas' account and the recovered root, Ruth takes a sample and secretly passes it to her brother Lee, a brilliant biomolecular scientist at AstraZeneca. Lee's illicit analysis isolates the active compound and yields pure, experimental doses of the drug he christens Delirium. 

As Delirium's potential becomes clear, Dream Thieves shifts into a tense web of mystery, corporate ambition, and human frailty. Love and betrayal entwine as one key character, consumed by rage and the seductive power of the drug, spirals toward self-destruction. A darker subplot of lust and cruelty simmers beneath the surface, driven by a sadistic killer who exploits Delirium's dream-sharing to manipulate and ensnare the innocent. 

In the end, as dreams and reality collide, the consequences of abusing this otherworldly fifth dimension can no longer be contained. Justice, though delayed and imperfect, finally descends on the guilty—yet the haunting question remains: once such a power is discovered, can it ever truly be controlled?
