Paul probably shouldn't be a cop. He just never got right after the big city riot that left him in a coma. Those crazy people almost slaughtered him – him, just a cop trying to serve the community best he could!
He's trying to get his life back on track via a new career as a small town cop. Things are fine until he meets Hank.
Hank isn't new to his career. For many years, he has protected the town from the spirits of dead miners that want revenge on the town that wronged them. Drunk or sober (mainly drunk), Hank will do his job.
There is something loose in the town, and it's extremely doubtful Hank or Paul can control it.
