Jordan was a rich kid. He spent most of his time amusing himself amongst the young, social elite of New England. University was merely an intellectual challenge. The sciences were something to do when he wasn't playing or partying. His father's money meant he could satisfy his whims and feed his ego with studies in physics and engineering.
