Maureen "Maury" Robinson's life in New York City is practically perfect: She has her dream job working as a fashion designer, a great group of friends, a super cute apartment, and she's sort of dating a model.

    But her perfect world comes crashing down when her father suffers a traumatic brain injury that leaves him unable to care for himself. Maury makes the decision to leave behind her life in the Big Apple and moves to the family vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to care for her father.

    Separated from her support system, Maury tries to navigate an endless maze of red tape with her father's care.  Creating a new life for herself out of the pieces of her old one offers no shortage of challenges and Maury finds herself feeling as if she's been dragged out to sea by a rip tide, with no help in sight.

    But slowly she makes new friends; including a Zayn, a friendly waiter/drag performer, as well as Skye, a preschool teacher.

   ...And Javier Cordero, a junior partner and her father's protege at his law firm.  

Javier Cordeo has never felt that thing you're supposed to feel when you're dating someone: That all consuming desire to be near them, the butterflies in the stomach stuff. Until he meets Maury Robinson, that is.  But Maury's life is complicated, so Javi decides to be a much needed friend as she navigates the unfamiliar waters of her new life.

As Javi and Maury start spending time together, and though there is a clear mutual attraction between the two of them, Maury isn't sure if the timing is right to start a new relationship.

    Until one stormy night when everything changes between the two of them.
