The author, Charles Gensheimer, combined his love of writing with a vivid imagination to create fun and playful children's poetry. Influenced by children's poets, Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss, this loving grandfather of nine saw children as "little angels who are all good and wonderful." He enjoyed writing poetry because he believed it gives children healthy laughter as well as an avenue for learning. He relished in his role as poet and grandfather and believed that "the most important thing on earth is to be good, kind, patient, and gentle to all children." Mr. Gensheimer had a B.A. in English-Education from La Salle University and a Masters in English from the University of Notre Dame.
