Most people don't know how tennis strings were once made. This short history traces my sotry on the tennis courts as well as the real story on how a craftsman in Lyon in 1875 solved a problem and created the string that gave modern tennis its feels. Written by a lifelong player, from junior courts on the Guarapiranga Reservoir to a runner-up finish at UCL in London and running the tennis department at YCAC in Yokohama — this was a soul searching research based on my life and accounts based public sources, with no connection to Babolat.
