Crocheting with wire is a little different from using thread or yarn and does take practice getting used to. If a project does not turn out to be perfect the first time you will soon learn that wire can be very forgiving as you can pinch the loops together with your fingertips where it looks untidy, once the item has been completed. The best way to get started is by practicing to make a chain – you will quickly learn that the wire takes on the shape of the stitch, unlike yarn that is easy to manipulate, so you need to pull the wire through the loop of the chain carefully the first time round.
