Wade Pullman has been driving for hours through the dark when the storm finally swallows the road. Six months after a divorce that left him hollowed out, he is not running toward anything. He is simply moving because stillness has become unbearable.

The old brick building rises out of the trees as if it has been waiting for him. Inside, the lobby is warm, elegant, and strangely full of quiet guests who seem to belong to other decades. The manager is polite. The room is comfortable. And in the lounge that first night, Wade meets Anna Blake—a woman with old-fashioned manners, a careful smile, and eyes that have seen far too much.

She listens. She understands loneliness the way weather understands rain. For the first time in months, Wade feels something other than emptiness.

But the Bellweather is not an ordinary hotel.

Photographs refuse to hold certain faces. Guests vanish from chairs without standing. Doors lead back to the same lobby no matter which exit is tried. And Anna, who has lived inside these walls longer than she will admit, carries a secret that will force Wade to choose between the life he left behind and the strange, impossible connection he has found.
