In the 1950s, Edward Collins is a safari hunter living in Nairobi when he is asked by the Game Department to investigate the growing slaughter of elephants and rhinos across the northern territories. Accompanying him is Walker, an American photographer searching for the picture that has eluded him since their last expedition. Guiding them through the wilderness are Rashidi, a skilled tracker, and old Biko, a veteran head porter whose knowledge of the bush has saved many lives.
Their journey leads them far beyond the settled districts into a harsh land of thorn country, tsetse fly infested wilderness, dry riverbeds, and distant waterholes where danger waits at every turn.
Wild dogs hunt at dusk. A giant rock python strikes from the reeds beside a lonely pool. Safari red ants sweep through camp in the darkness, forcing men to flee before the black tide reaches their beds. Rivers infested with crocodiles block the path ahead, while every mile into the wilderness brings fresh challenges and new dangers.
As the expedition presses deeper into the bush, signs of illegal hunting become impossible to ignore, and the trail leads toward men willing to risk everything for ivory.
What begins as a routine assignment becomes a demanding journey across some of the wildest country in Africa, where courage, endurance, and loyalty are tested against both man and nature.
Fast paced, atmospheric, and rich in adventure, Hunting in Africa, Vol. II follows a safari hunter, a photographer, a tracker, and an old porter through a world where the wilderness still rules and survival can never be taken for granted.
Step into the Africa of the 1950s.
