Edna and Cara are as close as sisters can be. Cara misses Edna when she goes to Texas to become a mail-order bride, but is devastated when she gets a letter from her saying she's witnessed a man killing a lady. Before she can send a letter in response, she and her family get a telegram saying Edna's been found dead. When they get no further information, Cara goes to Texas to get some answers her family needs. It soon becomes clear she needs help, but she doesn't know who to go to when clues start pointing in an unexpected direction. It turns out, he has access to resources that can help.
