Into the Red Light opens on the cosmic — what little specks we are, circling this bare rock — and closes on the incantation. Between those two poles the session moves through mythology, memory, history, the soldier's homecoming, and the slow erosion of the written word. A man thinking at full scale, from Prometheus to the screen replacing the love letter.
Erik M. Bonthron writes as MortusBard, a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division and a poet working in North Carolina. His work draws from the witness obligation — the understanding that some things must be said because they happened.
