Baba Kito is a hardworking farmer, but he has one big problem: he does not like to listen.
In his village, everyone respects special spirit days, when families stay indoors, rest, and allow the unseen spirits to move peacefully through the land. But Baba Kito believes his farm is more important than the village rule. Even when his wise wife, Mama Lami, warns him to stay home, he takes his hoe and goes to work.
To his surprise, the helpful spirits begin doing his farm work for him. They till the soil, plant his yams, and make everything seem easy. Baba Kito is delighted—until the day he asks for help at the wrong time. When the spirits harvest his yams too soon, he learns that rushing, stubbornness, and ignoring good advice can bring disappointment.
