When I first dreamed of Mythos, it wasn't the grand floating island or the impossible forests that captured my imagination. It was the creatures.
You see, every myth humanity has ever whispered about—every legend dismissed as folklore, every creature relegated to bedtime stories—they're all real. They live on a world parallel to our own, hidden behind veils of magic and ancient contracts.
There are dragons, of course. Black-scaled and ancient, with eyes like molten gold. There are satyrs—not the mischievous woodland creatures of children's tales, but beings of surprising depth and loyalty. There are centaurs who teach with patience and dry wit. Giants who can shrink themselves to manageable sizes. Phoenixes that burn and are reborn in endless cycles.
But beyond the famous creatures, beyond the ones we've all heard of, there are stranger things.
There are the Petrified—victims of Medusa's gaze, frozen in eternal stone, their expressions forever locked in fear. There are the beings that dwell in the deepest caves, creatures so old they predate language itself. There are fae courts hidden in forests so vast they dwarf mountains. There are things that swim in oceans so deep and wide that no one has ever reached their far shore.
And then there are the demigods.
Children of gods and mortals, caught between two worlds, blessed and cursed in equal measure. Some are noble. Some are flawed. Some are both. They train in schools scattered across a continent, learning to harness powers that mortals were never meant to wield.
When Jackie O'Connelle fell through that ancient door and into this world, he thought he was discovering something new. In truth, he was stumbling into a story far older than he could have imagined—one written in the blood of gods and the choices of mortals brave enough to stand against the darkness.
This is his story.
But it is also the story of five demigods who answered a desperate letter. Of a sister lost to shadows. Of a school hiding secrets in its marble halls. Of prophecies written in neon blue thread and delivered through impossible bottles.
It is a story of magic and betrayal, of power and sacrifice, of love found in the most unexpected places.
Most importantly, it is a story about discovering that sometimes, the world you think you understand is only the smallest fraction of what's real.
Welcome to Mythos.
Be careful what you believe.
