Rachel Reddington — better known as Little Red — has spent the years since Robo City answering strange calls from broken places. With Ezra Pigment at her side, she follows hidden signals, opens impossible doors, and helps people see the systems that have taught them to stop asking questions.

Inside the House, comfort is kindness. Stability is safety. Gratitude is expected. And under the rule of the Candy King, every meal, every corridor, every hesitation, and every hope is quietly measured by the Lattice, a system that knows how to make leaving feel dangerous and staying feel wise.

Hansel wants to burn the House down. Gretel knows that fire will only hurt the people trapped inside. Red must find another way — one that opens doors without becoming the new ruler of what comes next.

But the Candy King has built his kingdom on more than locks and lies. He has built it on hunger, fear, and the terrible truth that freedom is never simple when people have forgotten how to choose.

To free the House of Plenty, Red will have to face the one temptation more dangerous than control itself: the desire to become necessary.
