Star-crossed lovers, to the extreme.
Jenny Ambrosio is the daughter of the man who is the largest employer in their small Tennessee mountain town. Jenny is at the top of the teen scene in the town's only high school.
Santo (Saint) D'Orso is on the opposite end of the class scale. An orphan, living on his own in a cheap mobile home, working any part-time job he could find to pay his rent and feed himself until he could graduate from high school.
Enter Jenny Ambrosio.
Jenny takes a good look at Santo during her Junior year and decides, at that moment, that he will be hers. Forever. Santo doesn't think so.
Santo puts up a good fight, but Jenny finally snags him. Then, the day after their high school graduation, Santo disappears.
