Mario´s silent joy

Mario is almost three years of age and he does not speak. However, he is affectionate and communicates with those around him, in his own way. However, something does not quite fit, and a late diagnosis of autism leads to feelings of neglect and unhealed wounds. Grief has a beginning and an end, and the unending struggle to bring Mario into our world keeps you smiling as you read the lines of this story. January 19th is the birthday of Mario`s great-grandfather, whose name he inherited. It is also Saint Mario`s Day. On January 19th we all woke up to a new life. There are few occasions in life when we are lucky enough to learn to be better people. Mario has made us better. He gives us a gift, his voice, so that you may always carry it with you in your heart.
