Master of the Fleet

In an alternate-reality of the Pacific Northwest coast, where elemental magical is as common as the tides, Richard Lemarnier--a powerful and influential wielder of wind and water magic--thinks he's found the woman of his dreams. He planned to propose to her during the festival. But Anne-Marie never planned to marry anyone. After what she had endured in her younger days, she saw men as marks, there to be taken for all she could get from their courtship, before moving on to greener pastures. It was far too late to hope for true love. She had done well from Richard, but she had lingered too long.

During the harvest festival, too much wine and temper lead to her attacking Richard, a forced marriage, and a blood oath. Now bound together by elemental magic, their new relationship is severely strained. Trapped in a marriage she never wanted, the blood oath makes escape impossible. Richard is bound to a woman he had hoped to marry, but is in a loveless marriage with a woman who has every reason to despise him. Their future together is further complicated when an unknown enemy targets Richard's ships and warehouses using magic.
