This book contains no heavy theological jargon. The Bible was written for everyone. Theology is a precious gift to the church, yet Scripture is not reserved only for scholars. God invites every believer to encounter Him through His Word.
As an ordinary believer with no formal theological training, I offer these reflections from my own journey of reading and meditating on Scripture. For that reason, this book is not a scholarly commentary, but a simple, honest, and personal reflection on God's Word.
This book gathers reflections written chapter by chapter through the Gospel of Matthew. Throughout this journey, I have tried to read Scripture from God's perspective rather than merely from a human one. That is why you will often encounter the phrase, "when we view the Word from God's side rather than our own…" throughout these pages. My hope is that this shift in perspective will not only shape the way you read Scripture, but also the way you see your daily life.
When I use the word "perfection," I do not mean flawless human achievement or moral superiority. Rather, I mean the wholeness and restoration that God accomplishes in us through Christ.
This book comes from a believer in Korea, a country in the East, and is shared with believers in America with a simple hope: that despite differences in culture, language, and background, we may discover the same living God speaking through the same Word.
May these humble reflections encourage your walk with God and bring a fresh sense of wonder as you encounter Christ through the Gospel of Matthew.
