In "No Connections," Michael muses over a childhood marred by the lack of affection, parental support, and emotional guidance. His father abandoned him as an infant, and he didn't meet his mother until the age of thirteen. He was raised by caretakers in an environment that provided supervision but offered minimal nurturing and emotional support. Devoid of emotional support, he is forced to learn about life on his own.
