Georges is an older, white musician from France who has come to Jamaica to work on composing his symphony in solitude. But then he meets Emma, a young, dark, innocent violinist who is eager to learn the ways of love. And she has a friend: Natalie, a precocious, bisexual, insatiable clarinetist from the United States. The three of them, as Georges is about to learn, make an explosive combination.
Georges thought he would retreat from the distractions of a very active love life in his native France, to work in isolation in the little guest house in the back of Mrs. Hewitt's property in the lush tropical paradise of Jamaica. But then he meets Emma, and he cannot resist the sweet and voluptuous young violinist -- and Mrs. Hewitt seems to approve! But it becomes still more complicated. Emma's friend: Natalie is used to getting what she wants, and she wants Georges -- and Emma. How can Georges write a symphony with all this going on?
