A guide to the origins, meanings and history of names between Melbourne and Sydney. This book follows on from my previous works on place names in Gippsland. Consequently there is some duplication between this and some of my earlier works, especially where the Princes Highway passes through the Gippsland region. This work is linear and can be followed progressively from front to back or vice versa, as you travel along the highway. Readers will note that a number of towns are now bypassed and I have included most of the towns that are now off the realigned highway.
