This book contains Francis Bacon's treatise on the excellence of learning and knowledge. In this book, Bacon considers the best way of sharing knowledge, what has been done, and what needs to be done. In this book, Bacon proceeds to divide knowledge into three kingdoms namely; history, poetry, and philosophy. These divisions appeal directly to the three manifestations of human understanding, memory, imagination, and reason.
