About the Story
Ken and Dad are having fun on the deck when a rabbit hops into the grass. At first, the rabbit is just munching on the plants, but soon it jumps onto the deck and gets into the house.
Ken and Dad look for the rabbit in the den and the hall. They see mud and grass, but no rabbit. Then they hear a loud thud. The rabbit has fallen down the steps.
Ken helps get the rabbit back outside, but the rabbit soon returns. When Ken wants to keep the rabbit as a pet, Mom has another idea. Maybe a cat would be a better pet.
This simple, engaging story helps early readers build confidence while practicing Level 4 phonics skills, sight words, and repeated sentence patterns.
