Left in charge, bread baker, Jackie Thorndike, now has to handle everything at Jam Bakery: the staff, the baking class and the temporary bread baker who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend. The one she dated through Pastry and Baking School. The one who dumped her when he decided to believe his friend's word over her own. The only bright spot in this episode is the chance to share her love of baking with adult learners from Fulton River. She finds she's a natural teacher. When a nearby baking business advertises for a bread baking instructor, Jackie jumps at the chance to combine her two loves with a new job.
Freshly fired from yet another bakery, Mark Zutka gets the bread baking job at Jam Bakery. There's only three problems. #1 It's temporary, #2 there are no benefits, and #3 he has to work under the direction of Jackie "The Thorn" Thorndike again. When he notices the bread baking instructor's job advertisement, he knows Jackie will apply. So he applies as well, hoping to get the job and crush Jackie's endeavors.
The former lovers tango inside and outside the kitchen as they try to work together. But it isn't easy with the wedge between them that broke their relationship eight years ago.
Can Jackie prove her innocence to Mark? Will she win her dream job?
