PURSUANT The Creature from the Swamp - Pursuant, #11

In the Florida Everglades, five men vanish while investigating strange underground structures, leaving behind reports of a massive humanoid creature known locally as the Skunk Ape. Pursuant Inspectors Marion Kenway and Zia Kose are dispatched to investigate, expecting another dangerous Meta predator. Instead, they discover that the creature is only one part of a much larger mystery.

The investigation begins in the swamp, where Kenway and Zia encounter the Skunk Ape directly. The creature is enormous, powerful, and intelligent enough to evade conventional pursuit. Standard firearms prove ineffective, forcing Kenway and Zia to rely on their specialized Pursuant spring loaded rod weapons and tactical coordination. Unlike a Level Four entity, however, the Skunk Ape remains completely physical. Its unusual behavior and biological reactions point toward environmental interference rather than supernatural phase shifting.

The missing persons investigation reveals an unexpected connection to Lucas Warren, the antique dealer previously associated with the Missouri Ozark investigation. Warren had been collecting ancient maps and artifacts connected to the Agartha network. His activities brought him to Florida, where he and others located a previously dormant Agartha node beneath the Everglades.

Deep beneath the swamp, Kenway and Zia discover an ancient Portal Anchor. The device is connected to the same larger network encountered in previous investigations. The anchor has been dormant for centuries, but an external signal is causing it to respond. The missing men had unknowingly disturbed the site while attempting to locate and activate the ancient technology.

The Skunk Ape is revealed to have a relationship with the node similar to the Ozark Howler. It is an unusually old physical Meta predator whose territory developed around the ancient technology. Generations of exposure have made the creature biologically sensitive to the anchor's resonance. It has learned that when humans disturb the underground structure, dangerous portal activity follows. Its attacks are therefore territorial and defensive rather than evidence that it controls the portal or possesses Level Four abilities.

When the external signal causes the Florida anchor to begin opening a portal, Kenway makes an improvised decision. Using vibrational technology originally developed for Level Four containment, he adapts the equipment to disrupt the anchor's resonance. The procedure is dangerous and damages the equipment, but the portal collapses before a stable connection can form.

The rescued Lucas Warren reveals that someone had contacted him through an unknown device capable of causing ancient artifacts to react. He does not know who provided the device or who ultimately
