As the son and grandson of two former presidents, Cade has led a life of American luxury and fame. His Ivy-League friends at Alderton University aren't very different-- Maurice Laurens, the son of a former British prime minister; Charlie Hansen, heir to the Alderton fortune; Roxanne Rockefeller, distant relative of the famed oil tycoon, and Drew Hawke, current valedictorian of their class.

But as senior year progresses, Cade begins to suspect his friends are hiding secrets, and when tragedy strikes Alderton, a storm of blackmail, arrests, affairs, and homicide changes their lives forever.
