"Saul and the Spinster" is a crime mystery novel by author Adian de Brune. The book is regarded by some as Detective-Inspector Saul Murmer's most celebrated case among the series of de Brune's novels he is featured in. Murmer in typical fashion goes home after work one evening, and after his supper goes out to the notorious night club, the Green Lagoon, where he is a regular guest. This evening however will prove to be different as he meets a spinster, Mathilde Westways. Miss Westways tells the detective of her troubles, the strange letters she has been receiving warning that her life is in danger.
