When Savannah Richmond gets a notice from a lawyer named Alec Murphy about the last will and testament of a woman she doesn't know, she was puzzled. She had no relatives in Ohio, much less Amish relatives. Convinced that the letter was sent in error, she initially refuses the invite...But then she decides to visit the small Amish town against her better judgement. Suddenly she finds herself as the sole heir of the Sunrise Farm, and it doesn't take long for her to clash heads with Joseph Yoder, a boisterous Amish man. Right from the start he expresses his dislike of her, but she refuses to be intimidated by him, and the sooner she sells the farm the better. But when she stumbles on a box of letters in the attic, her entire life is turned upside down as she discovers her own connection to the Amish community.
