What does it mean to forsake all for Jesus? The writer FB Myer said that one night he knelt down and gave Jesus the large "key ring" of his will, with all the keys of his life on it, except one little key that he kept back. He felt Jesus say to him, "Are all the keys here?" And that is when he had to admit that there was one he was keeping for himself.
It was only a tiny key, closest to his heart, and he wanted to control his heart. It was then that he realised that he had to give everything of himself, not just the bits that suited him. That's when he says Jesus took the tiny key and entered his heart to take away sham jewels to give him real ones.
