Shadows Of A Summer Day

At fourteen, Lin Sheng falls quietly in love with Xu Xiachuan, her older brother's friend. He is kind to her when others tease her, gives her a piece of white milk candy, and leaves behind a memory she cannot quite explain. When Xu leaves Ningcheng for university in Yihe, Lin Sheng begins folding paper stars and storing them in a glass bottle, turning an innocent childhood feeling into a private promise to wait.

Three years later, Lin Sheng is preparing for the university entrance examination when she hears that Xu may already have someone special in his life. Rather than abandon the future she has worked toward, she chooses Yihe University and decides to build a life there for herself.

But arriving in Yihe brings her closer to the person she has spent years missing, and closer to misunderstandings she never expected. As Lin Sheng grows into an independent young woman, Xu begins to see her differently.
