It was particularly the Holy Spirit who superintended the authors as they composed their writings. #2 The doctrine of the inspiration of Scripture is evident in the Old Testament writings. This position dismisses all divine action in the writing of Scripture, reducing it to a merely human book. It refuses to listen to Scripture’s own affirmation about itself, and it demonstrates a very low view of divine action among human beings.
