They were a part of their community, and so was I. #3 I loved growing up in Boston. I loved going to the soup kitchen with my father, and I loved watching him perform magic tricks that were more like street hustles. #4 I learned to love books as a second religion growing up. My parents’ faith in literature was as strong as their faith in Catholicism, and they always had plenty of books around me.
