Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Play is not just about children acting like adults. In many forager societies, adults leave children to play by themselves, and they are only vaguely aware of what their children are up to. Play arises spontaneously, without any guidance. #2 Children’s play is always extremely similar, regardless of gender, age, or culture. It involves innately making a miniature society. From an early age, humans cannot help but do this. #3 We are born with a moral sense, and it is this sense of right and wrong that helps shape our social behavior. We also have in-group favoritism, which is the warm feeling of belonging to a team. #4 Humans are pre-wired to interact in positive ways, and from birth, we manifest socially relevant behaviors. Every society values kindness and cooperation, and defines acts of cruelty, and categorizes people as either virtuous or nasty.
