Sunglasses, Secrets, and a Really Bad Haircut

Harold Hendrickson came to Alaska to escape Storm Eriksson, the romance-cover persona whose face has been turned into unauthorized calendars, internet jokes, and far too much public attention.

Sue Pike runs The Sunburned Moose in Fireweed Lake, Alaska, where she sells hats, sunglasses, bug spray, and whatever dignity tourists can afford. She does not have time for wounded cover models, runaway chili tables, a Jet Ski named Impulse Buy, or a friend who accidentally ordered two hundred legally questionable beefcake calendars.

Then Harold walks into her shop wearing a terrible hat, a worse haircut, and the careful look of a man trying not to be seen.

What begins as a temporary escape turns into something far more complicated: a town event, a field project in rural Alaska, a chance for Sue to reclaim the work she once loved, and a man who wants to be useful without being put on display.
