In "Supermodel, Superhero," a homely police officer receives a magical makeup kit from a mysterious fairy godmother figure that allows her to transform into a stunning supermodel. While living this double life, she discovers a Russian's plot involving a peculiar drug called PHAT, which causes people to lose all sense of style and beauty.

The story interweaves the cop's adventures with those of a Russian prostitute who becomes a mail order bride to a buffoonish Senator as a means to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. When her fashion ambitions are rejected, the enraged Russian starts distributing PHAT across America as revenge. The paths of the cop and the Russian cross when the Russian steals the cop's magic makeup, leading to a complex game of identity theft and deception.

Set against the backdrop of New York City and Washington D.C., the novel blends elements of crime fiction, fantasy, and satire while exploring themes of identity, appearance, and authenticity. Subplots involve bureaucratic infighting between various government agencies, a budding romance between the cop and an orphanage superintendent that conflicts with the cop as fashion model's romance with a man too good to be true, and the Senator's disastrous tenure as America's Drug Czar.
