When a devastating flood sweeps through the highlands of Kenya, a four-year-old girl is torn from her family and found clinging to a tree by a kind stranger. And the small birthmark above her left eyebrow matches the description of a child who has been searched for across two communities for a decade.
Taji must now travel the road between two worlds — the warm golden plains that raised her and the cool green highlands that claim her — and face questions that have no easy answers.
