This book provides a comprehensive, real-time analysis of Tanzania's political environment during the lead-up to the October 29, 2025 general election. Drawing on court filings, official statements, human rights reports, media coverage, and family testimonies, it examines the systematic contraction of democratic space under conditions of heightened state control.
At the centre of the analysis is the alleged abduction of former Ambassador Humphrey Polepole on October 6, 2025, including subsequent habeas corpus proceedings dismissed for "insufficient evidence."
