In the meticulously manicured town of Blackwood Creek, everyone has a price. For the adults, it was the "Green Miracle" of 2015—a corporate windfall that brought jobs, prosperity, and a silent, toxic legacy. For seventeen-year-old Kira Avery, the price was her family's soul; her mother, the town's lead lawyer, traded her integrity for the secret medical treatments that saved Kira's brother.

When Juno Singh, the town's golden-girl influencer, vanishes during a livestream, the adults call it a digital detox. The police call it a runaway case. But Kira sees the glitch in the video—a coded distress signal they invented as children.

Kira isn't alone.
