The arsonist was about to start their next fire. Blood-red candles were set underneath the window’s curtain tails. Once the wicks were lit, it would take only seconds before the curtains turned into pillars of fire—allowing just enough time for the arsonist’s escape. From there, the entire house would go up in flames. And I, Yesi Garcia, would be stuck inside.

Yesi and the rest of the Carlton Girls are used to solving high-profile New York City cases—from thieves to saboteurs, they're ready to catch 'em all! But then, an apartment in their very own building, The Carlton Towers, catches on fire. At first, the girls think it's an accident. But when yet another apartment in a nearby Upper West Side building bursts into flames, Yesi knows that they're not dealing with a simple coincidence: there's an arsonist on the loose.
